Negaunee/Ishpeming Water Authority Well Head Protection Plan Renewal 2023
The Ishpeming Area Wellhead Protection Group is composed of four public water system entities: the Negaunee-Ishpeming Water Authority (NIWA); Ishpeming Township, Ely Township, and Tilden Township. The Group prepared and submitted a Wellhead Protection Plan (WHPP) in 2001 which was approved by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (now the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). The WHPP is currently in effect and has been used for wellhead protection continuously since 2001.

The Greater Ishpeming Commission on Aging is a nonprofit organization, our mission is to provide and coordinate services to all persons 60 years and older residing in the City of Ishpeming, and the Townships of Ishpeming, Ely, Tilden, Humboldt, Champion, Republic, and Michigamme. The purpose of these services is to promote the independence, safety, dignity, and well-being of the older adults in our service area.
